The Fast Fleet of Gran Turismo in 2024

Published 2024-12-06 by Zdravko Anticic

Here is an update on the Fast Fleet we presented to you after the 2023 season, during which we did 50.000km overall.

The fleet has expanded slightly since last year, and is currently composed of eight cars, and a vespa.

Oh - and we obviously managed to beat the 50.000 kilometres in a year mark from last year.

The regular: Ferrari 488 Spider

Model year: 2018

Year Purchased: May 2023

Kilometres total: 44 112 km

Kilometres during 2024: 12 437 km

Status: Regularly used during events

The current workhorse of the fleet, used during all the events, except for Nurburgring, since mid 2023. It has performed perfectly during this time, as you would expect from a modern Ferrari, and it shows no signs of slowing down. It is worth saying that it has replaced the previous 488 GTB (Sold in 2023) seamlessly.

The special one: Lamborghini Huracan Performante

Model year: 2017

Year Purchased: September 2017

Kilometres total: 45 006 km

Kilometres during 2024: 2 593 km

Status: Used when we need a V10 opera performance

Much like in 2023, the Performante has been kept cozy and safe in the garage most of the time. Every once in a while, on a warm day, it gets taken out to stretch it’s legs and breathe some fresh air.

Considering the path Lamborghini is taking with downsizing engines, and hybrid power, it is no secret that the V10 Huracan Performante will go on to be a future classic, as the last of a dying breed. As such, we believe it should be well taken care of, and enjoyed responsibly.

The pocket rocket: Lotus Exige 350 Sport

Model year: 2016

Year Purchased: January 2018

Kilometres total: 65 324km

Kilometres during 2024: 7 782 km

Status: Used during events

The Lotus continues to do what it does best –making the driver fall in love with it every time it is driven. Bought in 2018, it still sees use regularly, both on events and racetracks like the Nurburgring, and Sunday drives on mountain passes like the famous Abetone pass in our backyard

While 7 782 kilometers doesn’t seem like a lot, every one of those kilometres was filled with driving pleasure and absolute petrolhead joy.

The little lion: Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio

Model year: 2013

Year Purchased: January 2024

Kilometres total: 71 782 km

Kilometres during 2024: 15 441

Status: Used on all events

The Fiat 500 Abarth is a new addition to the fleet. It was bought specifically to be built into a stable video platform to use for video shooting during the driving parts on the mountain passes of our events.

The project was started in late January, when we came up with the idea, and several days afterwards saw this car listed online for sale. We wasted no time and bought it on the same day. From then on, we modified it dramatically, to fit the outrageous camera rig in the back, which we used to shoot videos like This and This

It proved itself to be a fantastic car for the job, as it does remarkably well to keep up with the supercars in the twisty mountain passes, where it’s short wheelbase, light weight, and a zippy engine help it along nicely. I can say from first-hand experience that this car makes a mountain pass extremely entertaining to drive – while shooting 4K video of the cars around us. We don’t foresee us changing the car anytime soon.

The smaller brother: Westfield Super Seven

Model year: 2004

Year Purchased: December 2017

Kilometres total: 6 823 km

Kilometres during 2023: About 600

Status: Used when we feel adventurous

The yellow Lotus’ cousin, like in previous years only sees use when we feel truly adventurous. It is, somewhat surprisingly, one of the most attention grabbing cars in the fleet. Wherever this little guy goes, it draws smiles and thumbs ups.

More than anything, however, it decides on it’s own when it gets taken out for a drive. Even though it’s taken care of, it chooses not to start if it feels like sleeping in the garage. But we love it anyway.

The pragmatist: Polestar 2

Model year: 2021

Year Purchased: January 2022

Kilometres total: 38 248 km

Kilometres during 2024: 6 402 km

Status: Daily use

Since it was bought in 2022, the Polestar 2 has been used as a daily driver. Quiet, comfortable, reliable, and nonetheless fast, it is a perfect day-to-day car. It is completely a no-drama car. Once you arrive home without interrupting your neighbour’s afternoon nap, unload the groceries, plug in the charger, and you’re set.

Looking to buy a Tesla? Don't. Try a Polestar 2 first. Swedish quality beats a Tesla every day of the week. The Polestar 2 is like driving a solid piece of steel. A Tesla feels like a cheap toy in comparison.

The Fiat: Fiat 126p

Model year: 1999

Year Purchased: July 2016

Kilometres total: 38 754

Kilometres during 2024: 0

Status: In the garage

As in 2023, it is kept nice and comfortable in the garage, away from the harsh elements, enjoying a well-deserved retirement, as a symbol of Polish car manufacturing from the olden days.

The grocery-getter: Volkswagen e-UP

Year Purchased: May 2020

Kilometres total: 55 618 km

Kilometres during 2024: 23 454 km

Status: Used as a day-to-day for our operations in Sweden

Similar to the relationship between the Yellow Lotus and the Green Lotus, this is the Polestar's younger cousin. Extremely light, extremely practical, and surprisingly fun grocery-getter.

It is the perfect city car, and we absolutely love it for reliable everyday use.

The Quintessentially Italian: Electric Vespa

Year Purchased: October 2024

Kilometres total: 22 km

Kilometres during 2024: 22 km

Status: Used to navigate the congested streets of seaside Italy

The all-new Vespa Elettrica is the latest addition to the fast fleet. It is a lightweight scooter using an electric motor to zip around town - the combination can hardly get any better.

It is the best mode of transport if you are going from point A and point B in a city, and don't have to bring anything with you. Traffic simply doesn't apply to you with this nifty little thing.

The total kilometer count for 2024 you ask?

68 709 km. Do you think we can do even more next year?
