Many of the rumours regarding the coming Ferrari SUV seems to have been wrong. Now, we have much better information.
The coming Ferrari SUV, called the Purosangue, is going to be based on the Roma platform. Not on the Stelvio/Levante, as we predicted. This rules out production at the same assembly line as Stelvio/Levante in Naples. Instead, the Purosangue will be produced in Maranello.
According to our sources, a hybridised V8TT engine is heading for the Purosangue, as well as a V12 option. The V12 might very well be the same unit that is currently in the 812. The launch Purosangue will most probably be with a V12, with the V8TT hybrid to be introduced somewhat later.
While the Purosangue is replacing the GTC4Lusso model, we expect the price to be about 250 000 euros + options and taxes. The GTC4Lusso had a base price of 226 000 euros, so 250 000 is quite probable.
The name Purosangue is 99 per cent confirmed since Ferrari had to battle (and win) in court for the rights to the name.
