Villa d'Este is Ranked as one of the ten best hotels in the world. A building dating back to the mid- 1500s, built as a summer residence for the mighty Cardinal of Como. There are few hotels in the world with the same history and class as Villa d'Este at Lago di Como.

The hotel consists of a main building and several smaller houses in the area. The area? Yes, the hotel has its own park of 25 hectares (!). With Spa, tennis courts, and other fun. You also have a pool, located in the lake, and several restaurants.

Villa d'Este has been creme-de-la- creme for over a hundred years. It shows. As a guest, you are taken care of as if you were royalty. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. As a guest you are expected to behave in this spirit. Loud, party people who spray champagne by the pool will be rejected – in a friendly, but firm manner.

If you are going to have dinner in the evening in the restaurant, you should have a blazer and tie on. If you do not have a tie, you can borrow one from the head waiter. They have a wide selection of ties in their wardrobe that you can choose from.

Something we highly recommend is to have lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is open even for those who are not staying at the hotel, but you definitely need to book a table. Among the regulars on a Sunday afternoon you will find celebrities from all corners of the world.
