This extremely twisty road between Castellina in Chianti and Poggibonsi.

The road between Castellina in Chianti and Poggibonsi is one of the most exciting ones in Tuscany. The hard core dynamic drivers will love every corner. Pure adrenalin, from start to finish.

The corners start coming at you immediately out of Castellina in Chianti, at the very start as you traverse the rough hillside. Just after the town of Fioraie you get a little break, you cross the slightly hidden valley. The forest around you is now switched with wineyards and olive trees.

When you get to the other side of the valley, you tackle the hillside twists again. For the next several kilometers, it is full attack at the turns. At one point, the forest ends, granting you a magnificent view of the valley of Gaggiano. This is further emphasized if you pass through here during the late afternoon hours, as the sun sets behind the hills.

From here until Poggibonsi, the road becomes less intense, albeit equally enjoyable.

A bit of caution, though. It is quite difficult to overtake slower traffic. Sometimes you will need a bit of patience. Also, the road is very popular with motorcyclists during the weekends. If you find the road empty on a summer week day afternoon, you will have an absolute blast. Your passenger will have a complete nightmare, clinging on for dear life.

Watch out for uneven road surface at times. Enjoy! You will have insane amounts of fun here.
