This is probably one of the ten best hotels in the world. It is located on a hill directly above Portofino's harbour. The views from the hotel are spectacular.

The hotel's terrace is legendary. There you can have a delicious dinner and enjoy incredible views. The hotel rooms are quite outstanding but are costly. A double room with a sea view during the high season starts at around 1 500 euros.

Please note that there is a second hotel in Portofino named very similar. It belongs to the same chain, Belmond, and is called Splendido Mare. It is located in the harbour of Portofino and albeit very nice, it is not the legendary hotel described here.
