A fantastic vineyard not far from Montepulciano.
Few vineyards in the area have seen the sheer amount of history Palazzo Vecchio has. Having stood here, atop it's own little hill, since 1300, in what used to be a border area between Tuscany, and the Papal State.
It witnessed a great many historical events between Siena and Perugia, and the later reclamation of the Chiana Valley. Since then, over the course of centuries, it has changed ownership many times, until it was finally renovated in the late 1980s by the owner's daughter and her husband. A few years later in 1990, they would produce their first Nobile wine.
With production in full swing since, they have expanded their offer of wines, and have worked hard on the promotion of the local Nobile. Today, it is one of the best wineries in the area, offering visits & wine tastings, as well as direct wine sales & a wine club, which grants you access to specially reserved vintages.
It is possible to book in advance. While the access road is good, take care that it is a gravel surface.
A perfect companion on your next road trip to the most beautiful country in the world.
