A legendary hotel in St Moritz
Badrutt's Palace is an iconic hotel in St Moritz. During the winter season, this is the most important hotel in the Alps for the economic elite of the world.
Set on the hillside to the north of the lake of St Moritz, it provides marvelous views of the mountains opposing it, and the lake itself.
While the hotel was built 150 years ago, its history is rich. Being one of the first hotels to offer winter sports, its first guests were the aristocracy in England. It quickly becomes very fashionable to spend the winter months in Badrutt's Palace.
The sport of bobsleigh was invented by the English tourists in the street just outside the hotel. The track was later moved to the outskirts of the village and is now called Olympia Bob Track.
Having a reservation at Badrutt's Palace gives the visitor access to the most important feature of the hotel: afternoon tea in the grand hall. This is the place to see and be seen for the world's rich and famous during afternoons in the winter season.
